The Seven Continents
This geography-themed ESL lesson teaches the names and locations of the seven continents. Students sing, use a world map, answer 'Where is...?' questions and practise basic compass directions. They survey classmates, create a continent poster featuring an animal, landmark and flag, and take part in a continent-corner quiz.

Lesson flow
Children mime the Earth, ocean and mountains, sing a continents song pausing to answer 'What's the biggest continent?', and point to continents on a map or globe. The second lesson surveys classmates about a favourite continent, builds a Continent Poster with a flag, animal and landmark, and races to labelled continent corners answering questions about each one.
